When you replace the toner cartridge in your Brother<\/strong><\/a> printer, your toner cartridge may not be recognized. The printer will indicate that the “empty cartridge” or “toner” light continues to flash. We assure you that there are no problems with your toner cartridges. This is a known and accepted situation on Brother printers, i.e. with two original, reconditioned and compatible ink cartridges. Depending on your printer model, HL, DCP, or MFC, you will need to perform certain reset operations in order for the ink cartridge to be recognized by the device as full. Before performing the reset procedure, first ensure that the ink cartridges have been installed according to Brother’s<\/strong><\/a> instructions in the manual.   1. Make sure the printer is turned on.<\/li>\n
  2. Lift the front cover of the printer to remove the ink cartridge.<\/li>\n
  3. After lifting the cover, press the “Security” and “Cancel \/ Stop” buttons at the same time.<\/li>\n
  4. At this time, the LCD screen will display the reset menu.<\/li>\n
  5. Scroll through the menu to select the color and then reset the output.<\/li>\n

      2. Open the printer cover and check the toner container.<\/li>\n
      3. Press and hold the asterisk (*) key for five (5) seconds (leave the cover open).<\/li>\n
      4. The LCD screen should display a new menu.<\/li>\n
      5. Navigate through the menu to select the color (K, C, M, Y), then select the output to be reset STD: Standard Capacity Cartridge (TN-221 Series), HC: High Capacity Cartridge (TN-225 Series)<\/li>\n
      6. Reset ? Select “Yes” when it appears on the screen.<\/li>\n
      7. Close the printer cover.<\/li>\n
