The printer does not recognize compatible ink cartridges

So what should you do if your printer does not recognize your compatible ink cartridge? The first thing to do is not to panic. It doesn’t matter if you buy them from any supplier, there’s no reason not to use high-quality original or compatible ink cartridges in your printer, so be patient and we’ll help you. Get out. Please try the following steps to correct your problem. Printer not recognized? If your printer still does not recognize your compatible ink cartridges, here is the solution!

Here’s how to reset your printer’s memory:

  • Remove the new ink cartridge and replace it with the old one. Let the printer rest for 10 minutes.
  • Replace the old ink cartridge with a new one. These two steps usually solve the problem, so please check if the printer can now recognize the new ink cartridge. However, if you still have problems…
  • Remove the new ink cartridge. Make sure to place it in a clean and safe place to avoid damaging the surface of the ink cartridge.
  • Use the printer’s power button to turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the printer from the wall. It is important to do steps 4 and 5 separately, because if you only turn off the power button on the printer’s control panel, some printers may still be in standby mode. Leave the printer like this for about 10 minutes.
  • Reconnect the printer to the wall (but do not press the power button).
  • Insert a new ink cartridge
  • Press the power button on the printer

Hopefully you can now print with the new compatible ink cartridges.

If it doesn’t work …

Clean the metal contacts

The metal contacts are usually visible on the back of the toner or ink cartridge on one side and look like a flat piece of copper, metal or even a circuit board (note that some ink cartridges have no contacts at all). Your printer still doesn’t recognize your compatible ink cartridges? No worries, try cleaning the metal component of your ink cartridge.

Here are the steps to follow:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power plug (for inkjet printers, skip this step as ink cartridges must be turned off before the power can be turned off).
  • Carefully remove the toner or ink cartridge and place it on the side of the flat surface to be secured.
  • Check the ink cartridge for metal contacts.
  • Check the inside of the printer to find the connection point.
  • Use a dry, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the ink cartridge and printer contacts to remove any dust or residue, taking care not to damage them.
  • Replace the ink cartridge in the printer.
  • Turn the printer back on
  • Try printing again.

Now this should solve any problems that may occur with bad contacts or chips.
